On-Site Vaccination – QM Care

WE CARE FOR YOU

Vaccination

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, or simply a bachelor here in Kuala Lumpur, you may begin to wonder if getting the flu or influenza vaccine is necessary or worth the trouble. And whether the vaccine booster dose is still required even though you have been vaccinated twice with either Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Sinovac, etc.

As medical professionals are vouching for it and how it’s critical that you do so every year, QM Care is here to help you understand the need for the flu vaccine for both you and your children and pave the way for your influenza vaccines and booster shots appointments.

Why do I need the flu vaccine every year unlike other vaccines?

The flu vaccine is modified every year to account for the changing strains of influenza, which mutate every year. Having a flu vaccine in the past does not mean you are protected this flu season as studies have proven the influenza virus mutates around every winter season.

Is the flu that serious?
Isn’t it just a cold?

The influenza virus causes a strong immune response; resulting in symptoms like high fever, dry cough, muscle aches and severe fatigue. The influenza virus also can develop into more severe forms such as pneumonia and can cause many complications, including death.

Who should get vaccinated?

Influenza particularly affects those of extreme ages, so the very young and the very old, those with lung diseases and those who are immunocompromised. Most people we know fall into one of these categories and that’s why it is advisable to be vaccinated to prevent the spread of the flu and also severe flu cases.
